Tami Hale Nelson shared this amazing budget friendly farmhouse decor idea using an old headboard!
Tami said “This is about as frugal as they come…I bought the headboard for $5 at a garage sale. Fortunately, my husband no longer questions my vision, so when I asked him to cut off the legs, but re-attach the bottom finials, and build a shelf, he just said…as you wish. I was out of black vinyl so I literally cut out each word out of scraps, which created a nightmare lining up the lines, but that’s what you do when you’re an el cheapo 😂 One picture still needs a frame, but I love it hanging in my bedroom!”
Some Q&A’s…
What size headboard did you use? “A twin size”
How did you hang it on the wall? “It’s not super heavy, it’s hung with drywall brackets.”
How did you do the leg bottoms? “I just cut the bottom part of the headboard off with a chop saw and reattached using a dowel drilled into both pieces and wood glue.”
