How to Replace Glass Cabinet Doors with Chicken Wire
Roxy gave this piece of furniture a gorgeous farmhouse makeover using chicken wire and white paint! It is so lovely.
Roxy was so sweet to share how she did it…”This is a $40 piece purchased from Habitat for Humanity. I used Behr, Whisper White paint. Glass and Hardware was removed along with the doors. I will admit I did not prime before painting but future projects I definitely will. The cabinet was scrubbed clean the I painted 4 coats of paint, making sure each coat was thoroughly dry. I then sealed with 2 coats Minwax water based Polyacrylic sealer. I used a staple gun to attach the chicken wire to the inside frame of the door making sure to pull tight as working my way around the frame. I recommend some kind of small trim to put over the attached chicken wire on the inside but I have yet to tackle that part. I replaced the knobs for the front and the hardware I painted with matte black. It’s a lot of hard work but had a fun time seeing the transformation!”
