Megan Miller did an amazing job on this end table makeover! She made the top a different color than the base. It looks like a gorgeous modern piece of furniture now. Here’s the before and after photos…
Megan said “Neither the top nor base were the original color I bought to begin with. For the base I mixed two different “chalk paints” by Magnolia Home- off white and a gray that had a very subtle blue tint. Once I had my mixed coat on I highlighted some areas with my-off white and lightly sanded it all. I finished it with a watered down deep brown glaze. (I water it down because glaze tends to be really thick + too dark). I originally was going to just stain the top of it, but turns out I didn’t have any on hand besides a blue stain. I watered down my blue stain A LOT and let it soak it, then sanded the top again (lightly) so it was barely there. Then glazed over the top with the same glaze I did the base with. This time I didn’t water it down, and did quite a few coats.”
