How to Make a Hanging Colander Planter

Tanya Raske made this beautiful upcycled hanging planter/windchime using a vintage metal strainer! I just love this for the front porch.

She said “Pretty darn happy with how my repurposed colander/planter/wind chime. 😍 Old colander, happy yellow spray paint, old sterling silver plated silverware, a chandelier crystal and some old chain (that may or may not have been old necklaces that I never wear anymore 😂) and a plant from the garden center. And bonus that the pretty silverware sounds beautiful tinkling in the wind! I do have a coconut liner in the colander to help with drainage and moisture retention. I did spray paint the colander with a paint meant for metal. It isn’t perfect but I’m okay with that! I won’t rust because the colander is stainless steel and the silverware is sterling silver plated so it will tarnish I’m okay with that too! 😍“
